License & Activation
NoteTalker is a one-time purchase — buy it once and it’s yours. This page covers buying a license, activating it on your computer, and moving it between machines. Everything here happens on your own device except two quick online steps: buying the key and activating it the first time.
What You’re Buying
Section titled “What You’re Buying”NoteTalker costs $37, one time. There’s no recurring fee and no usage caps — the AI runs on your own hardware, so there’s nothing to meter.
Your license covers:
- Every 2.x release at no extra cost. New versions are manual downloads (NoteTalker has no auto-updater), and your existing key activates them.
- Two device activations. Install NoteTalker on up to two computers with the same key, and deactivate one to free a slot when you want to move it.
There is no trial period and no tiered plans — one price includes every feature.
Buying a License
Section titled “Buying a License”- Go to talkwithyournotes.com and purchase NoteTalker ($37).
- A free account is created along the way — it’s how we deliver and store your license key. You don’t need it to run NoteTalker; it’s just where your key lives.
- After checkout, your license key appears in your account dashboard at talkwithyournotes.com. You can return there any time to copy it again.
Activating NoteTalker
Section titled “Activating NoteTalker”- Open NoteTalker and go to Settings → License & About.
- Paste your license key.
- Confirm. NoteTalker contacts the activation server once to bind the key to this computer.
That is the only moment NoteTalker needs the internet for licensing. After a successful activation, NoteTalker works fully offline — you can pull the network cable and everything keeps running.
Moving to Another Computer
Section titled “Moving to Another Computer”Each key activates on two devices. To use NoteTalker on a machine beyond that limit:
- On the computer you’re leaving, open Settings → License & About and deactivate the license. This frees an activation slot.
- On the new computer, install NoteTalker, open Settings → License & About, and activate with the same key.
Deactivation, like activation, is a quick online step. Your notes and vault are never involved — they live in your vault folder and stay put no matter what the license is doing.
When Activation Fails
Section titled “When Activation Fails”“Activated on a different device.” You’ve used all your activations. Deactivate the key on one of your other computers (Settings → License & About → Deactivate) to free a slot, then try again. If you no longer have access to that machine — a wiped or dead computer, say — contact support and we’ll clear the slot for you.
“For a different major version.” The key you entered is for a different major version of NoteTalker (for example, a future 3.x). Your key covers every 2.x release, so make sure you’re activating a 2.x build, or check your account dashboard for the right key.
Reinstalled your operating system? A fresh OS install looks like a new device to activation. If you hit the limit after reinstalling, deactivate the old slot from another machine or contact support — your two-device allowance still applies.
Where to Find Your Key
Section titled “Where to Find Your Key”Your license key is always available in your account dashboard at talkwithyournotes.com. If you ever lose it, log in there and copy it again — there’s no need to buy a second one.
